NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 1335

It’s a good thing.

Stuff happens and circumstances alter. Sometimes we like the shift and sometimes we don’t. That can largely depend on whether or not we had wanted or anticipated the change.

Even when a change feels unfortunate, there is some good aspect to it even if it is not immediately apparent. But it can be hard to see or appreciate that aspect when we feel we’ve been blindsided by life.

Almost four years ago, I lost my job due to the economic downturn related to COVID. My work was in software for the travel industry and folks simply weren’t traveling much.

At the time I was downhearted and worried. I had a gameplan for eventual retirement in a few years, but this wasn’t what it looked like at all.

In retrospect, I can see my job loss was a good thing. Yes, finances are a bit more interesting these days but I’m far less stressed and healthier overall. And I have more time to do the things I truly enjoy.

If I had to give my past self some advice, knowing what I know now, it would be this: “It’s a good thing. This will turn out much better than you think. So, try not to worry and enjoy the freedom and opportunities you’ve been gifted.”

Today’s message encourages me to continue applying my retrospective insights to current and future events. When I trust that Creation has my back, I’ll be sure to find that it does.

Please reflect and share. What unrecognized good thing is happening in your life right now?
