Notes From The Furlough: Day 52

Present challenges highlight your attachments.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. For most of us, COVID-19 has provided ample difficulties: safety, finances, isolation, political division, to name a few. We struggle and attempt to sort through this as best we can. In attempting to find solutions to our problems, we may be missing part of their purpose—to point out where we may be too rigid or to invested emotionally in the outcome.

I’m noticing the more I attempt to chart a very specific course, for example where my career future may lead, the more I stress and have issues. I need to examine why I’m fixed on a particular outcome and muse over how I might be open to the surprises and gifts I might receive, if I’m willing to explore all possibilities. My future is an intriguing mystery, and I’m enjoying gathering clues in the present moment.

How about you? What do your challenges teach you about where you might be stuck?
