We’re all mothers.
We generally think of motherhood as a biological event. Women give birth to children and then raise them to adulthood.
However, in a larger sense there is another aspect to mothering. We give birth to ideas, projects, creative arts, crafts, landscapes, and literature. We nurture folks who aren’t our children, our pets, our plants, and our dreams. In this definition of motherhood, it implies the act of creation and acts of caring.
Today’s message invites me to be aware of all the ways in which I mother beings and things in life. My love and caring are a generative power.
