Notes From The Furlough: Day 81

Your level of personal awareness is a barometer of conscious divine interconnection.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. 2020 has been challenging for all of us. This year’s events have provided plenty of opportunities for us to react emotionally and perhaps in ways we feel are uncharacteristic for us. It’s likely we were feeling mad, sad, afraid, disillusioned, resentful, or threatened at these times. Experiencing negative emotions, particularly when they seems to arise unexpectedly, represents a chance to get to know ourselves on a deeper level, as well as an invitation to expand outside of separation consciousness, the us versus them mentality.

Today’s message reminds me that the more I am aware of my inner workings, the easier it is for me to grow into a spiritual mindset. When I allow a portion of my awareness to play the role of the observer, neutrally noting my thoughts and behaviors, both after the fact and, optimally, as they occur, I gift myself with increased self knowledge and the ability to consciously choose what I think, say, and do. This results in greater freedom—I can write my own script rather than unconsciously repeating past patterns—and experience life at a more satisfying level.

How about you? How do you gauge when you are living your chosen beliefs and principles?
