Notes From The Furlough: Day 53

Your choices illustrate who you believe you are.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. COVID-19 has disrupted our lives. We’re being pushed to try new things, sometimes curiously and sometimes reluctantly or with resistance. More of us than ever before are interacting via technology—Zoom, Skype, Messenger, Facebook Live, YouTube, etc. We’ve learned how to order groceries for home delivery and are watching concerts and performances on TV rather than attending live events.

Today’s message reminds me that alterations I resist or choices I postpone making may be delayed because of my beliefs about myself. If I think I am inexperienced or not naturally talented at an activity, I may avoid choosing it. This limits my options for enjoyment and success. My heroes for today: 1. Thomas the Train—“I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I know I can.” 2. Terence—“Fortune favors the bold.”

How about you? What options have you postponed exploring and how might you benefit from expanding belief in yourself?
